Terry is a Principal with ROCG, an international professional service and consulting firm with offices throughout North America, Europe and the Asia Pacific region.  ROCG is the only international firm specializing in the areas of business transition strategy, finance and operations for privately owned and emerging growth enterprises.

Terry has advised small and medium-sized, family owned/closely held businesses for over 35 years. Additionally he has owned and operated small businesses in commercial real estate, mining, hotel and service industries.

His particular business areas of expertise are in business exit and transition planning and execution, value growth planning and strategic planning. In his business transition consultation work he is a catalyst in guiding owners to define and uncover their personal values, goals and objectives, which then drive all business strategies and solutions to ensure their end-in-mind objectives are met. He is especially skilled in understanding the emotional attributes involved with transition, and has vast experience assisting family ownership transfer including high level estate planning strategies.

In his consultation work, he has helped his clients set strategies, identify and measure critical success factors, lead business owner and management performance meetings and facilitated both team and customer advisory boards. His particular business areas of expertise are in strategic planning, customer service strategies and team development.

He is also a founding partner and managing partner of Shepherd & Goldstein LLP a regional full service certified public accounting firm and SG Wealth Management LLC.  Founded to do more than provide clients with compliance-oriented services, Shepherd & Goldstein’s principal goal is to make a positive difference in their client’s lives.

Terry is also a regular speaker on business transition, business strategy, business development and customer service strategies.  In addition, he has authored numerous articles on business transition, business development, finance and accounting issues. His writings have appeared in the CPA Review, The Worcester Business Journal and Cape Business Magazine in addition to various trade magazines. In 2008 Terry completed writing a white paper for ROCG Americas, Business Transition - The Increased Risk Of Incurring Catastrophic Losses And What You Can Do To Avoid Them.

Terry helped found Why Me, Inc. in 1985, a Worcester based charitable organization that provides emotional and financial support to children with cancer and their families. To this day he still serves as the volunteer Executive Director and Chairman of the Board. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of CPAs
